Feeling hot? Dip into the (airgun) pool!

Fancy a fun challenge against a friend on your plinking range? Try a game of Airgun Pool and see who’s first to get to black

The game can be made as simple or as challenging as you like by varying the distance at which you ‘pot’ the balls

With summer nearly here and good weather guaranteed (!), it’s time to get out in your garden to do some plinking with a game of Airgun Pool, which lets you shoot against a friend or compete in teams.

This 8-Ball game is played just like normal pool, with the two players or teams ‘potting’ all their balls in the correct order. Players toss for the first break and the winner then shoots at either a red or yellow ‘ball’. If they hit a ball, they then proceed to pot all the balls of that colour, ending with the black. When a player misses or hits one of their opponent’s balls, their turn ends and the other player shoots. The winner is the one who shoots all seven of their own balls followed by the black.

The Airgun Pool set includes a steel faceplate, which fits all common 14cm pellet catchers and target holders, and a set of 50 pool ball targets. The pellet catcher is not included with the game, but can be supplied on request, as can additional targets. Airgun Pool costs £14.99, including postage within the UK, and is available from Airgun Shooter reader John Ryan. Email him at jprpatriot@yahoo.co.uk for details.
