The 2016 British Field Target Association (BFTA) Championships kicked off the Field Target season on 2 April 2016 with team Air Arms achieving great success.
Hosted by Tondu in Wales, the course entailed strategic target placement to keep shooters on their toes throughout the challenging championship.
Air Arms shooters Justin Wood and Simon Higgins overcame the rainy conditions on Saturday morning and set a tough benchmark for fellow competitors as Justin achieved 37 ex 40 and Simon accomplished 36 ex 40.
The afternoon saw sunshine and obstructive gusts of wind, yet Air Arms shooter Jack Harris achieved one of the top scores with a respectable 34 ex 40.
Outstanding results achieved by the team led to Justin winning the 2016 BFTA Championship title. Simon Higgins followed in second place and David Schofield attained third place with 35 ex 40.
After a tense shoot-off, Jack Harris came fourth. Another member of the team, Craig Corbett, finished in eighth place.
That’s fantastic results for team Air Arms, with five shooters featuring in the top 10 places of the 2016 BFTA Championships.
