Walther renames its Rotex Model as the ‘RM8’

Walther’s eight-shot PCP, the Rotex – now renamed the RM8

Umarex‘s UK importer, Armex, advises that Walther has renamed its eight-shot Rotex PCP from R8 to RM8. The name change is apparently to avoid a potential trademark infringement, although Armex are as yet unaware of the full reasoning.

Since its launch in the summer of 2014, Walther’s Rotex has been a game-changer in the UK’s PCP marketplace, where its £425 asking price has returned very healthy sales through gun shops across the country.

The rechristened Rotex remains unchanged, sporting the gun’s original eight-shot magazine , bolt-operated action, stylish stock and high shots-per-charge count. “The only thing different is the name on the side,” an Armex spokesperson told us.

First unveiled in Airgun Shooter‘s September 2014 edition (read the story here), the editor has been testing the Rotex for a few weeks now and is scheduled to file his more comprehensive report shortly…
