Torches are becoming more and more specialised, with the Streamlight Sidewinder Boot Hands Free Military Flashlight being no exception.
The US manufacturer calls it “the new standard flashlight for boot camp, recruit/basic training and wherever extra military instruction occurs”. What all that means for the airgun shooter is that it’s both rugged and simple to use.
Its standout features are the angled head, belt clip and tough lens, but it also has a red filter that just slides into place over the main lens, plus a hinged floorplate which can’t fall off and get lost while you’re trying to fit fresh batteries in the dark. The light has an RRP of £37.
