First Impressions: SIG Sauer P365

This compact polymer-frame blowback may be tiny, but it still manages to pack in a 12-round drop-down magazine

Want a tiny CO2 pistol that you can cover up with one hand? Do you want blowback too? If so, the SIG Sauer P365 could be just what you’re looking for.

SIG Sauer has launched a new micro-compact, high-capacity CO2-powered BB gun called the P365. It’s based on a 9mm handgun of the same name, which, due to its minuscule make-up, is used for concealed carry in those countries that allow it.

The BB version features realistic blowback action, and the drop-down magazine holds twelve 4.5mm (.177l) steel BBs, as well as the 12g CO2 capsule for fast reloading.

The P365 BB pistol has similar balance and handling characteristics to the centrefire model, and SIG says the new BB gun will give 9mm P365 owners who carry one for personal protection a “training tool of the highest quality when a trip to the range for live fire is not possible”.

Most of us in the UK won’t be needing it as a self defence training device, but will want to put plenty of rounds through it for the pure joy of shooting, because this little handgun is bound to be a fistful of fun!

The P365 has a suggested retail price of £129.99. For more details visit Highland Outdoors (www.highlandoutdoors.co.uk).
