In the crosshairs – an interview with Optic’s Warehouse’s John Farbrother

John Farbrother of Optics Warehouse in Devon mixes sales with his lifelong passion for shooting.

Did you shoot before getting into the industry, and do you shoot today?

Both my parents were very keen air rifle shooters, so I’ve always been active and shoot more than I ever have before, travelling around the country and the world. In 2018 I won the national Grand Prix air rifle series in recoiling class, the BFTA Europeans in recoiling class and also the World Field Target Championship recoiling class in Poland.

How has the company changed in the years you’ve been there?

The company has grown over the last few years and now we stock a much wider range of products. We also continually broaden our knowledge on various shooting disciplines so that we can help the customer make the right decisions. You can see more on our website, or give us a ring on 01803 611895.

How has the night vision market changed in the last few years?

The market has grown massively and is definitely becoming a leading range of products that we sell. The improvement in product technology and a drop in prices has opened the market to a wider range of customers. It is becoming an indispensable item in shooters’ equipment.

Any hints as to what new products we should be looking out for?

I am really excited about the new products Delta is set to release over the next year. This is my favourite brand of scope, with top quality glass and great features but still at a very reasonable price. The company is looking to become market leader in rifle scopes for every application.
