A knife for forest and field

One of Casström’s most versatile knives for the airgun shooter is the No.10 Swedish Forest Knife, and the model shown here comes with a black Micarta handle and stainless steel blade, as well as a black leather sheath.

This robust full-tang knife is great for general bushcraft tasks, but it’s dextrous enough for paunching and jointing a rabbit or squirrel, or for breasting a woodpigeon.

The blade is about 10cm long and made from 3.8mm thick Swedish 14c28n stainless knife steel. It’s been heat treated to achieve a hardness of 57-59 HRC. The knife has been ground with a shaving sharp full flat grind.

This knife costs £94. See www.casstrom.co.uk for more details.
