Find out about your MP’s stance on shooting via the BASC’s new Parliament-dedicated website

The UK’s General Election is over… and now it’s time for shooters to pick up the lobbying reins. In fact, Britain’s 140,000 strong shooting organisation, the BASC, is actively encouraging it!

And to assist, the organisation has launched a new website to allow its members, for the first time, to lobby their MPs and ask their position on shooting. Additionally, the BASC in Parliament website also allows BASC members to review their MP’s position on shooting (if one has been recorded).

The launch of the BASC in Parliament site follows on from the success of the Association’s election website, which showed that a majority of MPs in the new House of Commons have made public statements in support of shooting – 55% actually; of the 384 MPs (of 650) who indicated their stance on shooting, no fewer than 356 were supportive.

Thanks to BASC members who lobbied their candidates, the Association has more information on the MPs of this new parliament than ever before, and BASC’s director of Communications, Christopher Graffius, told Airgun Shooter“We hope to build on the success of the election website with this new BASC in Parliament website. The website will also help to build on BASC’s all Party Support in Westminster.”
