Since the sad passing of Bob Nicholls, founder of the world famous Air Arms marque, the company has paid tribute by running an annual challenge in his memory – the RSN10 Memorial Cup. The open event is hosted by Air Arms who lay on a fabulous spread of not only shooting, but general hospitality – and though it’s an open event, it’s a chance for many Air Arms owners to meet up and pay homage to Bob.
The 2015 event was held at its usual East Sussex shooting venue at Northall Farm, and drew no fewer than 156 competitors. Fittingly, it was crowned with success for Team Air Arms…
Open Class
Competitors battled it out for first place in a tense shoot-off, but it was Andy Simpson who stole the top position with 93 points. Gary Chillingworth, Dave Ramshead and Alex Honeywell closely followed by filling the next top spots. It was also great to see Ian Harford back in the field, partnered with HFT legend Pete Sparkes.
Recoil Class
Keith Warburton snatched first place with a lead of two points – finishing with a score of 78. Tandi Edward was awarded winner of the .22 Class with 77 points, taking top honours with a staggering nine point lead.
Junior 14/16 Class
It was a top day out for Daniel Attfield, who proved that the ever-popular sport is something for the younger generation too. He walked away with the top score of 82 points.
Ladies’ Class
It wasn’t just a weekend for the boys, as leading lady Theresa Reed scored 81 points, which saw her pip to the top by three points ahead of second place.
