Airgun powerhouse Umarex reveal the Hammerli 850 AirMagnum, a multi shot precharged rifle now available in kit form!
The Hammerli 850 AirMagnum is manufactured in Germany by airgun powerhouse Umarex. It’s the perfect answer to those shooters looking for a multi shot precharged rifle that doesn’t require a pump or large compressed air bottle to refill. The 850 AirMagnum is a full UK-legal limit air rifle, firing at 16J or up to 12ftlbs so is more than suitable for both target shooting and pest control. The power is generated from a single 88g Co2 cylinder, or it can be modified using an adapter to accept two smaller 12g Co2 bulbs if required. The fore end of the synthetic stock slides off to reveal the cylinder housing. Simply unscrew the empty capsule, screw in a new full capsule and you’re ready to go. Each 88g Co2 cylinder should give up to approximately 200 shots before empty.
The magazine and action are both solid and reliable. The magazine is an 8-shot rotary type that indexes each time the bolt is cocked. The cocking effort also engages the automatic safety which is a simple thumb-slide type located behind the action housing and away from the trigger. The cocking bolt is a sturdy lift-and-pull type, with a positive click at the back end to indicate the action is open and allow the magazine to be removed. This action has proved so reliable, it has been replicated into other Umarex models including the PCP range of Walther Rotex RM8 rifles.
The Hammerli 850 AirMagnum is sold in a handy XT kit form. The complete kit includes rifle, Walther 3-9×40 scope and mounts, moderator, Umarex TMB II bipod, pellets and two magazines. RRP £399.95.
