BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair 2015 – 500 free tickets for serving members of the British Armed Forces

Britain’s largest (140,000-strong) shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting & Conservation, is making available to serving members of the British Armed Forces no fewer than 500, free-of-charge tickets for their BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair, taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April.

The show offers a fun day out for the whole family with arena demonstrations, trade and craft stands, game cookery demonstrations and a dedicated food village with produce from around the country. There is a special area for kids featuring have-a-go activities such as the low-ropes adventure challenge and bushcraft skills. Normal entrance fee to the fair is £10 on the day (£8 for advance bookings).

Steve Bloomfield, director of BASC England said: “In recognition of the role that our troops have played in keeping us all safe at home we would like to offer them a day out on us. This is a great family day out and children under the age of 15 get in free. Members of the armed forces can simply contact Tickets for Troops and book their ticket.”

This year there will be more on offer in the shooting, stalking and gamekeeping sections.  The BASC game and deer department will be joined by the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation, the British Deer Society and the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust along with other organisations promoting deer management. A range of gundog events including the BASC Scurry League will also take place.

BASC teams will be available to answer questions and offer advice on a range of subjects including BASC’s deer stalking schemes, training, game management and firearms licensing. Shotgun coaching will also be available with BASC-accredited coaches and there will be a range of clay shooting competitions over a new layout. A

will be the top prize in a clay shoot-off competition for top-scorers from both days. And speaking of Browning, there are special offers available on selected Browning rifles all weekend – simply visit any Browning dealer at the event for details.
